QUEVEDO THE GREATEST POET

EHEU FUGACES POSTUME LABUNTUR ANNI ET OMNIA MORS POSCIT. Quevedo is the big poet the greatest writer in the spanish tongue. These verses from Ovidius explain part of his soul preoccupied with the brevity of life. Years lapse, months and season come and go. eternal youth is a myth and I read the prose and verse of don Francisco Quevedo Villegas. They comfort my soul and console with deep reflection on the vanity (nugacitas) and fugacity of events. The world turns and turnes over its axis. Seneca just said that one of the gifts by god to men is the shortness of his days. On account of that he wrote De brevitate vitae
